Supplement Start Dates in AEP / OEP
If you have a client that is leaving a MA or MAPD plan and changing to a supplement, remember that January 1st is when MA, MAPD, and Part D effective dates will take place. So, arrange for your client's supplement to start January 1st as well.
Also, enrollment into a Part D plan will dis-enroll their MA (HMO or PPO) or their MAPD plan. Changing from one supplement plan to another will require the client to dis-enroll from their old supplement policy.
